~Grandmas Half Marathon 2010~

I have such a respect for marathon runners! It takes such patience, determination, incredible mileage, overcoming injuries and a never say die attitude!!! I LOVE watching all the runners accomplish the huge feat of finishing 13.1 and 26.2 miles! I can just imagine all the things each one of them had to overcome to be there not to mention actually finish! I have watched my amazing friend Jenifer run many awesome marathons and half marathons through the years but this one was pretty spectacular! Jenifer ran her heart out on Saturday's 1/2 Marathon! I could not be more happy and proud of her!!! Even with a strong head wind, she ran a unbelievable time of 1:37:27, placing her 76 out of 3308 women! So incredible!!! What a great example you are of what hard work and determination will bring! Thank you Jenifer for the outstanding inspiration you are to me and so many others!
So focused!!
Hank-- true devotion, up at 2 am to cheer Jen on!!!
One my favorite traditions of Grandmas with Jen... icing in Lake Superior after the race!!

Happy Daddy Day!

There's something like a line of gold thread running through a man's words when he talks to his daughter, and gradually over the years it gets to be long enough for you to pick up in your hands and weave into a cloth that feels like love itself. ~John Gregory Brown

You are such an amazing, loving, and giving father! You lead by example and these girls just ADORE you Jeff!

Happy Father's Day

My father used to play with my brother and me in the yard. Mother would come out and say, "You're tearing up the grass." "We're not raising grass," Dad would reply. "We're raising boys." ~Harmon Killebrew

Saying Good Bye.

When we came home to visit my family, my parents dog Precious just past away from old age. It was good to be there for my parents as they were very close to her and she was a very sweet dog!

Before we had left for my parents Grace had caught 10 butterflies with no net, it was pretty neat. She brought the butterflies with to show Nana, Papa and the cousins. When we arrived and saw Precious had past they decided to release the butterflies in honor of Precious! It was a very sweet moment and my parents were touched! We will miss you sweet Precious!
