Grace loves riding Nugget! She rode all the way to Grandma and Grandpa's house last Wednesday! She was so excited and she is really catching on fast!

She is learning how to direct rein! It has been fun watching her build confidence!

Sharing The Love Of Gardening.

Mrs. Larson asked if I would come in to Grace's preschool class last Wednesday to talk to the kids about gardening. I shared the book "Mortimer's First Garden", by Karma Wilson, a personal favorite!

We talked about how plants grow, and how important sun, water, and soil are! Each child planted and watered their own sunflower seed.

We also talked about how important worms are to the soil! Each child was given a worm to put in their gardens at home! This was Grace's favorite part of the morning!

What a terrific group of kids! Kyle, Jacob, Emma, Grace, Terra, Mea, and Kylie! It was so much fun for me to be there with all of them! They were such great little green thumbs!

happy earth day 2009

this time of the year brings me back to memories of my grandma mortensen~ who past away several years ago now... she would love to take my sister and i on many walks and talk about how important it is to protect what god has given us on the earth. we would pick up trash from the ditches and she would say, it seems like a small step but the little ones make the biggest differences... i sure miss my grandma mortensen~


this earth day we as a family have taken a few small steps in making the world a little bit greener!


1 changed our light bulbs to the energy efficient kind (switching to compact fluorescent from regular incandescent bulbs uses 60 percent less energy per bulb and save 300 pounds of C02 a year)

2 trying to have less waste in our home, reusing things instead of throwing things away

3 we are planting more trees this spring

4 picking up garbage that we find littered around

5 we switched to a tankless water heater

Jam Session

Those of you who know us know how our family likes to dance and get crazy! I had to grab my camera for this one. I was charging my ipod on the radio charger and Grace pushed play and it started playing some of my running music Flo Rider. I usually don't let them listen to my crazy running music but it was too cute! Look at how different they are when they jam! Grace is wild and exciting and Ava is cool and collected! I love celebrating their difference as much as their similarities! :)

Earth Day 2009 "The Blend"

My sister Amy and I always have the best time cheering on our kids as they run their hearts out at the Earth Day 1K in St. Cloud at SCSU! It is so fun to watch Grace really enjoy running! It is something pretty special we share! She ran the whole way and never stopped! I was so proud of her! At the end of the race she told me running makes her heart happy! Grace you make my heart happy!

There was a lot of characters running around which Grace was pretty excited about!

I was told there was over a 1000 kid's registered for the race! That is incredible! I really support what the Earth Day and Blend stand for! The Blends mission statement~In today’s world of alarming childhood obesity rates and skyrocketing inactivity, our children deserve every opportunity to buck this trend and begin understand the importance of exercise and proper nutrition! ~I couldn't agree more! I am glad we were apart of it!

There was lot's of excitement at the end of the race, and everyone is a winner! It was a great way to spend a warm and summer like day! :)

Ava can't wait to run next year too!

Easter Sunday

What a beautiful Easter day it was! A fun filled morning finding easter baskets! Then it was off to Grandpa Joes church, a visit with great grandma Trautt, lunch, and a crazy easter egg hunt at our home! What a great day!

We enjoyed a beautiful weather and visit with Great Grandma!

Grandpa and Grandma Moravchik have been having us over to color eggs since Jeff and I first started dating! Having children has made this time even more special too us! Thanks for the wonderful memories Joe and Carol!

Ava was loving the egg dying! She would keep putting more and more eggs in a cup! And you should have heard her when the white eggs came out in color!

Grace actually took her time and finished every egg!

Joseph wanted to play with the eggs instead of decorate them! So we peeled an egg for him to roll around! He loved that!

It would not be fun with Grace unless we got a little dirty!

Jacob

Our sheep Fluffy had her baby lamb on Good Friday. Grace named him Jacob! She has been spending time with him everyday since! She is so excited!

Grace has been quite the helper in the barn! She really enjoys helping me clean stalls! She is such a hard worker! Daddy and her watch "Little House on The Prairie" at night, and Grace has taken a liking to Laura! She has been doing chores like Laura! She has also started calling Jeff "Pa"!

Dear God...

On this Easter Sunday I pour my heart out to you God! I do this in thanks and the utmost gratitude. What a blessed act of love you have given us, the gift of your perfect Son, Jesus Christ! I am in awe everyday of what Jesus did for us sinners. What did we do to deserve this? Nothing, nor could we ever! Such a beautiful example of perfect love, forgiveness, and grace beyond all measure! It is only through the blood of your Son, Jesus Christ, that brings us to you. Without this perfect sacrifice we would always fail and come short of your Glory!

She Has Arrived!

My brother Aaron and his wife Tiffany had their baby Thursday evening at 6:45! Savannah Loraine weighing in at 8lb 5oz and 19 inches long. She is so beautiful and sweet! I am so happy I was able to spend time with her on Friday! Congratulations Aaron and Tiffany!

Mommy is doing great! She is such a natural!

I had the hardest time taking my eyes off of her! Look at that beautiful head of hair!

Grace has been pretending she is in the circus since we left on Sunday! I hope she is not planning on leaving us to join the circus???

Nora's Birthday Party

Saturday morning Grace was invited to her friend Nora's 4th birthday princess party! Grace loved it!
