Happy Birthday Jenifer!!!

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for a while, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never, ever the same. ~Flavia Weedn

You make the world a happier place Jen~We love you!

Grace, Ava, Auntie Jenny, and I tried to make the biggest snowman ever! But we couldn't lift the balls of snow on top of each other...

When Julie brought Grace home from their first movie in a theater~this is what they saw! Jeff and Grandpa Joe used the tractor to finish the snowman! Grace can't wait to decorate him!!! What a fun day!

I have felt like a Hamster running on the treadmill these last weeks of extreme cold! I was so excited to run outside today as it felt warmer and there is something so magical about running in snowfall with giant flakes!
This is the first time I have taken Hannah on a run! She is hooked! I just love this time of the year!!!

Too Cold Outside!!!

Mom does this picture bring back memories of my childhood??? My poor cats would let me dress them up over and over again, and purr the whole time! Mickey Mouse II is one of those types of cats. He let Grace dress him up and play with him all Monday morning! It was very entertaining!

What a cute morning!

We were not able to play outside!

Thanks Grandpa Joe!

Thanks for the great plowing on Sunday~Grandpa Joe!!! Grace is going to love the new climbing hills you made!

I love Santa!

Grace sure enjoyed talking with Santa. Ava on the hand did not feel like visiting. She has a more cautious nature.

Grace only gets a little excited to see Mea!

All Aboard "The Polar Express"

The Polar Express is something we look forward to every year! It is magical and an evening full of excitement!

We are lucky enough to share this fun night with our good friends the Martinsen Family. What a fun tradition.
Grace and Mea were excited to see Thomas and all the other toy trains sets in motion at the North Pole!!!

Nibble, Nibble, Crunch!!!

Grace was so cute the yesterday night. Every night we have about the same routine, bath, lotion, pj's, warm milk, and watch Little House on the Prairie with Dad, read 2 books, talk about favorite parts of the day, pray and bed. Tonight when we were talking about her favorite part of the day she jumped up to perform a new song she just learned in preschool. It was so cute we had her do it again so Nana and Papa could see!

Ava Marie is 10 Months Old!!!

It has been so great watching Ava grow and develop a very sweet and humours personality! She has been crawling and exploring everything.

She has 6 teeth now, and still loves to smile! She is a bit more cautious than our first born. She really responds to what we say to her. She wants to please!

Ava knows who everyone in the family is and will point to them in pictures! She can really bebop when there is a good song on! The thing I think is the cutest about her is the way she interacts with Grace! She just watches her in awe!!!

Lights, Camera, Action!

Here is the tree Jeff and I worked on to surprise Grace and Ava on Saturday night!

Oh Christmas Tree...

It was cold but that did not stop Grace from finding her favorite tree! We sure loved watching her run around looking for "the" tree!

Maybe this one? Too tall.
This is the one!
Grace stayed up to help decorate the whole tree! We listened to beautiful Christmas music and Grace liked seeing all the special ornaments that have been on our tree every year! Some she actually remembered from last year!

Cookies, Cookies, and more Cookies!!!

Grace worked really hard last week on her cut out cookies! This was the first type of cookie we made so far! It was a lot of fun! Grace loves baking as much as I do! I remember trying to master the perfect chocolate chip cookie when as was younger! Do you remember that mom???

She really liked how they looked and had a hard time letting Jeff and I try any! She on the other hand thought she should taste to make sure they were not "lemons"!

The Magic of Christmas!

Jeff borrowed his cousins lift to decorate the big pine tree by the horse barn! It was a lot of lights but the end result was amazing!!! We waited to light all of the lights we put up this year to make it magical for Grace when she arrived home from the Christmas Parade yesterday night! I don't know who was more excited Grace or me!!! She couldn't believe what she saw when she got home!!! We ran around the yard and the big tree what seemed like forever ! It was a magical and exciting night!

Cold parade again this year!!! But we had a great time!!! Grace and Ava had 4 layers of clothing on and could hardly move! Ava really liked the horses pulling wagons! And Grace loved everything!!!

The Cosmic Frown!!!

Dad this blog is for you. I know how you love astronomy...
Grace and I went on a night walk to see a beautiful Christmas tree that our neighbor Eddie Motel decorated with lights on top of the hill in the field by our house. It was the most beautiful winter night I have experienced in a long time.
We were able to see the Bright Cosmic Frown also. The planets Jupiter and Venus briefly aligned to form (nearly upside down) two eyes and a frowning mouth in the southwest sky. From what I read its what's called a planetary conjunction, the two planets —the brightest in the night sky —appear extremely close, separated by only the width of a finger held at arm's length. They won't be this close together and well-placed for evening viewing again until May 2013. In fact, some astronomers think a similar alignment of the planets on June 17 in the year 2 BC is behind biblical accounts of the Star of Bethlehem present during Christ's birth. The bright planets would have appeared so close together they could have been taken as a single shining star.

On the walk back we stopped by the lake to see the ice! We played on the ice close to the shore. When the ice gets really thick we will be able to shovel the snow and skate! I can't wait! It was an amazing night to share with Grace.
We finished the cold night walk with "The Best cup of Hot Coco EVER!"(That's what Grace said)

Congrat's Jenny and Frank!!

Jenny and Frank are engaged! We are so happy for you two. They have been friends forever it is so good to see two people who were meant to be together finally make it happen! We love you both :)

"I Love the Nutcracker!!!"

Grace loves the Nutcracker! She believes he will come alive when she goes to sleep-- like he does in the book and movie! She has been bringing him where ever she goes and sleeping with him at night! I can't wait for her to she the Nutcracker Ballet in Duluth. She will never be the same!

Happy 16th Birthday Kim!

Happy Sweet 16! We love you!

Little Jeff!

It was a great hunting season! We just love the anticapation the opening day, chili in the shack, and all the fun deer stories that are shared throughout the days. Thanks everyone for the great memories!
