The Love of Skiing!

I have such wonderful memories of learning how to cross country ski at a young age! My parents would take us skiing and snowshoeing all over! Last year my parents got Grace new snowshoes and she LOVED it! This year she gets to add skiing to the adventure! She is a quick learner and I can't wait to take her on the trails!

This video is the first time she put them on!!! So proud of you Grace!!!

Christmas Eve Dinner at Our Home

Jeff and I prepare Christmas Eve dinner at our home every year since we were first married. We make a traditional Solvak dinner that was handed from Jeff 's Great Grandma Moravchik! We always enjoy this night. The night is made complete by leaving cookies for Santa and broccoli and carrots for the reindeer and reading the Night Before Christmas read by Jenny and the Nativity story in bed with mama.

Merry Christmas From Our Family To Yours!

I never grew up with the beautiful tree, lights, or presents. I had parents who had very strong convictions that led them to raise their family without all of that. Oh how I would long to have a part of all the Christmas beauty...my parents I thank them so much, how hard it must have been for you two~ to stand so strong in your conviction. (I was a very strong willed child) I love you so much mom and dad!

Now, that I have a family I do celebrate Christmas with a tree and and lights but with them help of my Savior I want to raise my children with that same simple message. It is so easy to get caught up in the outward beauty of the lights but with when Christ is the true center it can happen. When giving comes from the spirit it comes so easily. I can't honestly say there has been a lot of "easy" giving which leads me to think a lot of my giving is of me and not the spirit. But when Christ is given the chance to use us for His purpose it is pretty miraculous!

Hope came to us all when God sent his Son Jesus! It is a message I remember hearing since I was just a wee one! The day it really made sense to me I will never forget. God LOVED me that much! It was so hard to fathom and if I didn't understand what grace really means I still wouldn't. Too be loved and forgiven that completely and unconditional gives a wretched soul like mine purpose! Christ was such a perfect example of what we should shrive to be. It is through Christ we truly can do anything: forgive someone who did us wrong, love even though we are not shown love in return, give when we are not given back too!

May joy and love follow all of you into the New Year! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

All Aboard!

We have such a wonderful tradition of taking a trip to the North Pole on the Polar Express! Not only do we get to ride on the train but we get to see Santa! We have enjoyed this with our friends the Martinsen family for 3 years now! This year we had cookies and hot cocoa on the train! Ava was so sweet when she saw Santa! I will never forget how adorable she was.

Winter Wonderland!

I feel like a little kid myself when the snow falls this beautiful! It was hard to contain the kids or even myself for that matter! We were outside enjoying the first snowstorm in its fullest! A bit cold with the wind but worth every minute!

We had to dig out the buried sled!

Ava LOVED the snow!
